Badshah began his career in 2006 alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh in Hip Hop group Mafia Mundeer. In 2012, he separated from Honey Singh. He rolled out his first independent Haryanvi song Kar Gayi Chull, which was later adopted, into the 2016 Bollywood movie Kapoor & Sons.
After that, he has featured on Bollywood soundtracks for a film such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Khoobsurat. But, he rose to fame in 2005, when he released his first debut single, DJ Wale Babu, along with Aastha Gill. It was one of his famous songs and ranked number one on the iTunes charts within 24 hours of release. As of 2023, the song has already crossed the 420 million views mark on YouTube.
