Divine began his career in 2011 as an underground rapper after finding hip hop on a T-Shirt. One of his friends wore a T-shirt of 50 Cent’s first album, Get Rich or Die Tryin at school. The same friend would give him his first MP3 CD with the label of hip-hop music. Divine mainly inspired by 50 Cent, Nas, Tupac, Eminem, Big L, and Rakim.
He came into the mainstream media after the release of his first song Yeh Mera Bombay. He performed at the Blue Frog Festival 2014 in Mumbai. After that, he gained the attention of Sony Music, and shortly after, he signed a contract with them. The song went viral and later won the Best Video of the Year award by Rolling Stone India.
Divine earned his vast fortune through his rapping career. But, in his earlier days, he toils himself to make that mark. Followed his previous success, he, released his breakout single Mere Gully Mein featuring Naezy on April 16, 2015. It went viral, and many Bollywood celebrities shared it on social media.
In 2016, he collaborated with Indian DJ Nucleya on the track Jungle Raja. The same year, the song won the Best EDM track of the year at the GiMA Awards. Divine has appeared on several TV shows, including BBC Asian Network on April 29, 2016, and Brapp TV. After that, he rolled out another hit track with Nucleya titled Scene Kya Hai off Nucleya’s album Raja Raja.

Both Divine and Naezy helped as a consultant to get an authentic representation of the hip-hop culture for the film.
