Career:
In his initial struggling years, Nani got obsessed with movies and wanted to become a Director. He was influenced by Indian Film director Mani Ratnam’s works. ‘Radha Gopalam’ was his first Telugu movie as a “clap director” under producer Anil alongside director Bapu.
Some of his initial movies as an assistant director are Allari Bullodu, Dhee, and Astram. Nani worked as a radio jockey for around one year, as a host of a program called ‘Non-Stop Nani’ offered by his friend Bhargavi Mallela.
Nani made his acting debut in a Telugu movie called ‘Ashta Chamma’ (2008) with an Indian actress Swati Reddy, for which he praised by the critics. After ‘Ashta Chamma’ his next movie, ‘Ride’ also hit the box office. Apart from his initial success in Telugu movies, he made his debut in Tamil Cinema as a lead actor in ‘Ala Modalaindi’ (2011), considered his first breakthrough.
