Richa Chadda was born on 18 December 1986 in a Punjabi-speaking family in Amritsar, Punjab. Her father, Somesh Chadda (Businessman by profession), belongs to a Punjabi family, and her mother, Kusum Lata Chadda (Professor by profession), belongs to a Bihari family. Mr. Chadda owns a management firm in Delhi and Mrs. Chadda is a political science professor at PGDAV College in Delhi. Richa’s mother is also an author and also works with Gandhi Smriti formerly known as Birla House.
Due to her parents’ profession in Delhi, Richa spent her childhood in New Delhi, where she completed her schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya located in Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. Richa Chadda is a critically-acclaimed Indian actress who initially began her career as a model and then in numerous theatres. She began her acting career with a small role in the 2008 film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, but she quickly rose to fame with her starring role in the 2010 romantic comedy Benny and Babloo.
